Hey everyone,

For those of you following me, I just wanted to continue my series of videos with an additional video on complications. This video will shed some light on a condition called Lymphedema, as well as talking about Rick Simpson Oil or RSO. We will be touching on swelling of the head and neck area, medications and my upcoming PET and CT scans due on 9-23-2016.

One of the side effects of getting radiation treatment on my lymph system was Lymphedema. My doctors touched on the subject just a little bit, but now it seems we should of talked a lot more. About a week ago, I was really freaking myself out because of the swelling going on in the neck area. Come to find out, it was swollen because of the lymph system fluids not having anywhere to go. Well, I didn’t know that. I thought I was coming down with another type of condition.

I made an appointment to see my E.N.T and after having the Endoscope stuck in my nose, they determined it was a lite case of Lymphedema, and I should worry too much. Holy crap! Not worry? I was freaking out because I didn’t know what was going on. I asked what I should be doing about it. At the time, the Doctor said that it should just go away on its own. Well, it didn’t, and in fact, it got a little worse.

Swelling in the throat

Since my doctor visit, the swelling has gotten much worse. Of course, this is before I discovered how to manage it. I mean I didn’t know, and if I was told, I would of prepared for it. But, you know, the doctors can’t tell you every single thing that is going to happen.

I found some YouTube videos on the subject and also some websites that have been extremely helpful. Also, some of my viewers kind of set my mind at ease because they have gone through the same thing and it takes a lot of time for this condition to heal. There is a special Lymphatic message that is used in conjunction with using a rebounder. Using these tools in combination has made the swelling go down almost instantly.

I had touched on medication in my last video just a little. However, I have discovered many people end up creating another problem by not taking their pain management medication as prescribed. They end up getting somewhat addicted, and have a hard time quitting when the time comes. Well, I wanted to tell you that this issue is very real. Most people don’t realize that they will become addicted to pain MEDs over time. And when it comes time to quit, they can’t.

You must remember to take your medication as prescribed. If you need more, please relay that information to your doctor. If you need to come off of the pain medication, do this under strict doctor supervision. Do not plan on quitting pain medication on your own without consulting your doctor.

Now, I went off on my own and didn’t use the tapering method. I was sick for a few days, but I got through it, only to find out I had to get back on because of new pain caused by nerve damage. Now I am on a very low dose, but this is my choosing. If it were up to the doctors, I would be back on full dosage.

It’s important to understand that this can be a new problem if not handled correctly. So, I urge you to stay on prescription, and do not deviate. If you end up taking more, and want to come off, don’t be afraid and talk to your doctor. They understand that Oxycotton and Morphine are, and always have been, very addictive pain management strategies. So, if a patient comes in strung out, they know why. Take very good care in this area and you will be fine. If you need help or ideas, consult a doctor first, and then ask around.

PET, CT, Surgery, RSO

My PET and CT scans are coming up on the 23rd of this month and this will determine if I need surgery or not. I really don’t want people cutting on me, but if the results come back bad, I don’t want to go through this whole process again. So, I am leaning on the fact that I can make a bunch of RSO or “Rick Simpson Oil” by the end of this month, so this might help if I decide NOT to do surgery.

I really like the results people with cancer have been having with RSO. I wish I knew more about this earlier on, but hey, you gotta go with what you understand. Now I understand a lot more than I did when this journey began 2 years ago. With the knowledge I have now, I will try something all natural to cure what is left of my cancer before heading down the “cut me up” road.

For my next video, I will talk about the day-to-day aspects of recovering from Chemo and Radiation. It will be very nice because I will be able to include videos on making the RSO and how that whole process plays out. I will update again once I have the results back from the PET and CT scans.

Till Next Time….
