Beat Cancer, Stephen Jackson, Update 6-11-2016, SCC, Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Throat Cancer

This is an update for 6-11-2016

I just wanted to post a quick video to let everyone know that I am still here. Yes, I have made it through the 7 rounds of Chemotherapy that I was prescribed, as well as 32 out of 35 rounds of Radiation. My radiation treatments will end next week, but they also include 3 boost rounds that will primarily focus on the tumor site itself.

I wanted to let everyone know that this has been a journey for me and my family. At first, I felt as if this wouldn’t be a problem, but soon found out that this type of treatment is very traumatizing to say the least. I’ve really had to dig deep in my soul to pull through this. I have been very sick most of the time primarily due to the treatment, but also the side effects.

I have had a number of complications that I’ve had to deal with, such as the ones that are visible, but also the ones that aren’t. Forgive me for being so emotional in the video, but this too is something that comes with this sort of treatment.
I have gathered enough energy, however, to make this video and provide and update for those who have been following me. I believe that you need to know about my progress, whether good or bad. Well, I really only have good news for you and that is, I’m still here and I am going to pull through.

After completing my Chemo, the news of doing so has made me feel so much better by itself. The other part is completing my radiation treatments. Once those are done, I can begin to recover completely.

There are so many things that have gone on between the time I made my last video, and the time I started therapy. I will be sharing everything in detail in my upcoming videos. Some of those things will include information on:

* Mindset
* Complications
* Nutrition
* Constipation
* Side effects
* And your support group

All of these things are so important when it comes to treatment and recovery when fighting cancer. I have had to make a number of changes in my life to get through this very difficult time. For those who have supported me, I know you have had to make sacrafices as well and believe me, I thank you for what you’ve done for me.

At the same time, I have never been any good at asking for financial help, but I find myself in a situation where I have to ask today.

I need financial help in the form of donations. The bills are coming through with great consistency and they are not small. We have made changes in our lives in order to accommodate this as well like refinancing our home, closing our business, and liquidating our 401k in order to make ends meet, but many of you know that these alone don’t cover the ongoing costs of conventional treatment.

Any help at all is welcome. Also, prayer is number one in our house, so if all you can do is pray for us, thank you for that and please continue.

I wanted to keep this short but I did want you to know that I have been thinking of all of you. You have made my fight your fight, and I am slowly pulling through.

I want to thank you all again for being at my side when times have been unbearable. It really shows the strength of bonds between people who care for each other and our God given ability to really make miracles happen when we set our minds to something.

Thank you again,

Stephen
